The story of my life

Ah, the great Bowl. As someone who isn't partial to football (certainly, "despise" could be the appropriate word for the way I experience approximately the sport), I never watch it. In 1982, the notable Bowl occurred on January twenty fourth. My mom was pregnant with me, and she or he went into hard work that morning. She and my dad drove (in conjunction with my sister, Jeanie, and my brother, Brian) an hour to the birthing center, simplest to find out that she became slightly dilated. The doctor instructed her to walk around, so my dad and mom, in conjunction with Jeanie and Brian, went to the mall throughout the street and walked around for a few hours.

My dad was 30, and my mom was 29 in this photo. Good grief, I feel old!

meanwhile, in Pontiac, Michigan, a totally interesting kick-off became taking place for terrific Bowl XVI.

As you can believe, my dad and the physician have been past pleased to spend the afternoon on the birthing center expecting my arrival, as opposed to watching that game! ;)  sooner or later, the physician sent my mom home because she wasn't progressing, so my mother and father made the hour-long drive domestic. Later that night, my mother went into difficult hard work and went returned to the birthing middle. i was born at 1:forty five inside the morning of the 25th.

because i used to be born in a birthing middle, my brother and sister have been allowed to be there and watch the delivery. That became tons more interesting than the super Bowl. I determine that I hated soccer whilst i was within the womb, and decided to be born all through the terrific Bowl just to irritate the physician (and my dad); or perhaps I hate football due to the fact i used to be born on wonderful Bowl Sunday, and the physician (and my dad) could as a substitute have been watching the huge sport ;)

My fifth birthday befell at the day of tremendous Bowl XXI, however i was too young to remember the fact that. My "candy sixteen" birthday took place to fall at the day of tremendous Bowl XXXII. Secondary to planning a marriage, a sweet sixteen birthday is a massive deal to teenager women! I do not forget in reality hating football for ruining my birthday that 12 months. ;)  The outstanding Bowl has been in February ever for the reason that 2004, even though, so it's most effective been on 3 of my birthdays--1982, 1987, and 1998.

For the past several years, i have spent some hours on brilliant Bowl Sunday doing some thing useless that I experience, and now not feeling guilty for it. considering we don't have cable, Jerry took the kids to my parents' house today to observe the sport over there; which intended I had the residence to myself! I made a yummy dinner that I normally wouldn't make for the family--sauteed shrimp (my kids do not find it irresistible, however i like it). I took a hot tub, after which had a pitcher of Chardonnay to chase the Oreo ice cream even as watching an episode or three of Flashpoint. It turned out to be a completely great, enjoyable evening!
