Playing dress-up

last night time changed into my monthly Winers assembly. Renee hosts every October's meeting, and it's a Halloween subject. we have a bonfire, and all people wears Halloween costumes.

I regarded on-line for days trying to assume up a good dress, and that i finally determined that i'd like to move as Medusa. the primary (and maximum crucial part) of the gown is her hair product of snakes. I went to the dollar store and bought a few packs (approximately forty man or woman) little snakes and a couple of bigger ones. Then I were given some plain barrettes, and that i spent a few hours hot-gluing the snakes to the barrettes so that I should set up them in my hair.

I additionally got face paint (to do a grayish face and dark circles round my eyes), and a tunic with a few netting stuff to go over it. i was sincerely excited about my dress once I were given it all collectively!

yesterday, I informed Renee i'd come over early to help installation. At round 4:30, I decided to get geared up, due to the fact it would take me a long time to get all the snakes in my hair.

when I picked the first one up, the barrette fell off. I tried any other, and the equal issue happened. The barrettes came off of each one that I picked up :(  i was so bummed. i am really going to parent out a way to make it work for subsequent 12 months, though. I really need to head as Medusa!

I started wracking my brain to come up with a closing minute costume. searching through my closet, I noticed my "fat garments" from my earlier than photograph, and i even entertained the concept of dressing up as my earlier than image, by stuffing the clothes with pillows:

It was quite funny, however it became nearly impossible to walk round like that. I texted Andrea to look if I could borrow a dressing up from her, and happily she became domestic and had a Supergirl costume! Jerry picked it up on his manner domestic. i used to be planning on leaving the house at 6:30. by the time he were given domestic with the costume, it became 6:45. I threw it on fast, and happily it fit!

I went to Renee's to help installation, and the entirety appeared remarkable!

earlier than I left, I made a plan to have best wine, and no food there. while i was losing weight, that's how I usually handled Winers conferences. The food is usually great, however it is usually very caloric and i don't have any concept a way to matter it. So I ate earlier than I left, and just caught to wine--I had approximately 6 oz.

I enjoyed seeing the girls, due to the fact I don't usually see a whole lot of them until it is at a Winers meeting--and i have not gone to the previous couple of meetings, so it's been some time.

The blonde wig and poodle skirt is truly Jessica! would not she appearance great? I assume the blonde suits her properly ;)  Stephanie (far proper) become carrying a fancy dress that her mother made inside the 60's. Stephanie said even at age 13, it was incredible tight, and she or he became in no way able to wear it. considering she currently reached her intention weight, and is excellent petite now, she turned into capable of wear the dress!

by the time I left, at around eleven:00, it turned into 37 ranges out of doors. And my bare legs have been absolutely frozen. after I were given home, I crawled into bed under the electric blanket and snuggled up to Jerry, however I just couldn't get warm. i used to be absolutely chilled to the bone. but I had a laugh, as anticipated! :)
