I had to rise up at 4:30 this morning to shower and get ready to head to the airport. The children stayed the night with my parents, so Jerry become able to power us. We picked up Renee at five:30, and were given to the airport at about 6:00. I did not have a great deal hope of having on the primary flight--closing night, Brian told me it might be a very close name. I printed out our boarding passes and we went through safety and to our gate.
on the gate, we had to observe the reveal to look if our names were at the "cleared" list, that means we had been capable of make it at the flight. The entire plane boarded, and all of us stand-by way of passengers had been waiting for our names. There were just three seats left, and Renee and i got of them! So we made the first flight, at 7:25.
i was terrified to fly, in keeping with traditional. I opted now not to have the wine before the flight, because I did not know if i'd make this specific flight or no longer. i was excellent relieved to peer that i used to be within the front of the aircraft (because of my fear of flying, i am very picky about wherein I take a seat--preferably, i'd have a window seat simply over the wing). My biggest worry become having to sit down within the returned, wherein it's far most turbulent. however anyway, i was in row five, which made me glad. i was in a middle seat, which I truely didn't like, however beggars can not be choosers, proper?
I swallowed Xanax proper away, and hoped it might kick in speedy. I felt like my heart turned into going to pound out of my chest while we we took off, after which it turned into a touch bumpy right away. The Xanax failed to even kick in till halfway thru the 1 hr 45 minute flight. fortuitously, the flight changed into uneventful. My favored component? Biscoff cookies!!
My brother Brian picked us up, and we went to his residence for a little whilst before the race expo opened. The Xanax had made me exquisite sleepy, unluckily, so i stopped up taking a 30 minute nap. Then we headed to the expo. Brian dropped us off there.
We saw a fireman right as we walked in...
We picked up our bibs and our jackets (in place of t-shirts, we were given jackets--I wish I could say they're amazing, but they're quite cheap nylon cloth. I do not know if i will ever wear it. however once more, beggars can not be choosers. i bought multiple Gu's to have for the race tomorrow. The expo changed into definitely small, which surprised me. it's a ladies's race, so I thought they had have lots of stuff to buy! ;)
We had a quick lunch at a touch cafe--I were given a hen basil pesto panini, which became pretty good. Brian picked us up, and we drove him returned to his house, then took his truck to the Mall of the united states. It was so funny, whilst we were driving, the auto next to us saved looking over at us, and hitting the smash, looking at us, then trying to get ahead people--simply appearing very unusually. Then they have been sticking their arms out the window with their cellular telephones, taking photos of the front of Brian's truck! Why? properly...
It become so funny! I certainly hadn't even observed the moustache whilst he picked us up at the airport. (And if you're wondering you can get one at www.carstache.com).
We didn't spend an entire lot of time at the mall. We walked across the first flooring. I went into Teavana, and we sampled some tea. HOLY COW, it become soooo precise. I don't even consider what it changed into, however i purchased a cup of it (it become $5, which i would never usually pay for a cup of tea, but it became that desirable). Renee tried a chai one, and she loved it as nicely. i am going to ought to check out buying a few tea from their website.
We just spent some time surfing a number of the funner shops. Renee got a chair rubdown at Brookstone:
at the way out, we got a frozen yogurt. I should have taken pics: Renee got a small vanilla topped with fruit; I were given a regular sized vanilla with cookie dough, Oreos, and Reese's portions. My best justification is that it become fro-yo as opposed to ice cream ;)Brian made dinner for us, and it become delicious! It turned into penne with a bird pesto cream sauce, and sauteed kale. the right pre-race dinner.
All-in-all, it become a exquisite day. I can't await the race to be over the next day, so we are able to simply loosen up and enjoy the time away from home!
